LinkedIn

Matthew Mitten is a Partner at Foundation Media, where he focuses on scaling businesses with digital ads. An Honors Fellow graduate of Elon University (Phi Beta Kappa, Top Finance Major, summa cum laude), Matthew started his career at Bank of America where he quickly became one of the youngest Vice Presidents at the firm. On the investor relations team at BofA, Matthew helped craft the earnings presentations, CEO, CFO, and Board materials, and tell the financial story of the company to investors and Wall Street. He also won multiple Operational Excellence and automation awards, and sat on the AI council for the CFO group before leaving to dive into entrepreneurship.

Although he has not acquired a business (yet), he plans to in the future, where he can use his unfair advantages of marketing, financial operations, and AI implementation to scale a business. Matthew brings a financial, marketing, and AI-focus to The Charlotte ETA Group, which he has been attending since nearly the beginning.

Aside from Foundation Media, Matthew also spends time:

  • Collaborating with his best friend Michael to grow the Micro Investing brand to the most trusted name in alternative investments
  • Serving on the Young Alumni Council of Elon University
  • Building SaaS tools and apps and implementing AI into other companies
  • Traveling the world and sharing his journey through Build in Motion, his personal brand
  • Investing in private companies through his personal HoldCo, Mitten Ventures
  • Coaching business students on how to succeed in university & land jobs and internships through Upside Academy
  • Serving on the board of The Charlotte ETA Group, of course!

Matthew is happiest while playing disc golf, pickleball, biking, camping and backpacking, and exploring the world. He’s been to the US Disc Golf Doubles Championships twice, and although he hasn’t finished in the Top 100 yet, he will at some point. He has visited over 15 countries, 30 US states, and 22 National Parks, and is always looking to increase those numbers.
